Our Story

We come to work because we want to make our planet more livable and sustainable, maximizing fun along the way. Folks who know us will tell you we’re an enthusiastic, determined, slightly quirky bunch – but it’s these traits that make us effective. It goes back to our name – our founder, Dr. Dune Ives, spent her formative years traversing the Alaska-Canadian Highway. She turned to the Milepost Guidebook, a guide for finding the most efficient route, the best view, the nearest stop and the most compelling story, for the 1,390 mileposts along the way. We serve that role for our clients, helping them meet their goals in the most efficient, effective and enjoyable way.

"Milepost helps us see things through a different set of lenses and we are better off for their insight. They are thorough about their approach, genuine of their commitment and flexible in their design of solutions." William Watson, National Mango Board

Our Commitment

In 2017, Milepost transitioned from an Inc. to a Social Purpose Corporation (SPC), reinforcing our commitment to creating positive, long-term impact by prioritizing our employees, community, and environment over earnings.

Milepost has been a certified B-Corporation since 2010 based on our positive environmental impact, transparency in business operations and positive employee relations. In 2019, Milepost was recognized as a Best for the World honoree by B Lab in the category of Governance, for practicing what it means to use business as a force for good and ensuring that our mission is carried out with transparency and accountability.
